Terms

Typing on typesilk is free and needs no account. These terms cover the leaderboard and everything you need to sign in for.

Who can sign in

You need to be at least 14. If you're younger, a parent or guardian has to agree first.

Play fair

Type your own runs. Scripts, autotypers, macros, copied runs and anything else that fakes a result aren't allowed.

Your name

Your username and display name are public. They can't pretend to be someone else, insult or threaten people, spread hate, advertise anything or break the law. You're responsible for the names you choose. Your username can't be changed later. Your display name can.

What we can do

We can hide runs, remove names and block accounts that break these terms, and we'll say why on request. If you think we got it wrong, write to contact@johannesgrof.me and we'll look at it again.

Reporting something

To report a name or a run, send the username, the daily and your reason to contact@johannesgrof.me, in English or German. That address is also the contact point for authorities and users under the EU Digital Services Act.

The service

typesilk is free and comes as it is. It can be unavailable, change or end, and boards or stats can be lost, including those stored in your browser. You can delete your account at any time from your profile.

Liability

We're liable under the law for damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence, and for personal injury. For slight negligence we're not liable, as far as the law allows. Rights you have as a consumer that can't be waived stay untouched.

Law and changes

Austrian law applies, without its conflict-of-law rules. If you're a consumer, the mandatory protections of the country you live in still apply to you. If these terms change, the new version is published here, and you can delete your account if you don't agree with it. The German version has the same content.
